CLARENCE
C. LEWIS - Pilot
During
my senior year in High School I applied for and was
accepted into the U. S. Army Helicopter Flight Program.
After graduation from the Warrant Officer Flight program
I received my ‘wings’ and was stationed
in Viet Nam. I served five years in the U. S. Army.
The past 35 years
have been spent in civilian flying where I have been
involved with and participated in an extremely wide
variety of helicopter flying. I have been blessed with
many unique assignments taking me to some of the most
beautiful places in the world from the Continental Divide
in the lower 48 to the mountains and glaciers of Alaska.
On occasion my skills have been requested to provide
safe and secure transportation of VIPs from high-ranking
dignitaries to celebrities to NASCAR drivers and their
families.
Many years were
spent in aerial application to crops in the Midwest
from the Dakota’s to Nebraska to Minnesota to
Iowa.
For most of the
past 10 years I have been honored to fly with the U.
S. Forestry Service throughout the United States working
with them to minimize the impact to our homeland from
wildfires. Working with the U.S.F.S has also afforded
the opportunity to partner with them and other U.S.
agencies when our country needs relief from disasters,
both natural and man-made.
